A 2 carat lab grown diamond at Nivara is ₹1,00,000 for the stone: a flat ₹50,000 per carat, VVS clarity and E colour. A finished ring adds gold, making and tax, so rings carrying about 2 carats of diamond start from around ₹1,41,500 in 14k gold. Prices move with the gold rate.
What a 2 carat lab grown diamond costs
Nivara prices a diamond by its weight at one rate. Every diamond is VVS clarity, E colour and ideal cut, IGI certified, and the rate is ₹50,000 per carat at every weight. A 2 carat diamond is therefore exactly twice a 1 carat one, with no step up at the round number. The table uses the round sizes from our diamond carat size chart and shows how much of a finger about 16 mm across each one covers.
| Carat | Across, about | On a 16 mm finger | Diamond price at Nivara |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.00 ct | 6.5 mm | about two fifths | ₹50,000 |
| 1.50 ct | 7.4 mm | just under half | ₹75,000 |
| 2.00 ct | 8.2 mm | about half | ₹1,00,000 |
| 2.50 ct | 8.8 mm | just over half | ₹1,25,000 |
| 3.00 ct | 9.4 mm | about three fifths | ₹1,50,000 |
Diameters are for a well cut round and vary slightly with proportions. Prices are for the diamond alone; the gold and setting are added depending on the design. A slimmer finger makes the same diamond look larger, and a broader one makes it look smaller, so the surest test is your own hand.
From a ₹1,00,000 diamond to a finished ring
The diamond is the first line of the price, not the last. A ring also carries its gold, in 14k or 18k and BIS hallmarked, the making and the tax, so the finished price is higher than the stone and changes with the design. The setting moves the price more than the carat does. On this page a ring with 1.85 carat in all is from around ₹1,63,000, while one with 2.04 carat in all is from around ₹1,42,500, because the design and the gold in it are different.
| Ring | Diamond in all | From around, 14k gold |
|---|---|---|
| Amara round cocktail ring | 2.00 ct | ₹1,53,000 |
| Toi et Moi pear and emerald ring | 2.00 ct | ₹1,45,500 |
| Mode round and pear ring | 2.04 ct | ₹1,42,500 |
| Amara crossover solitaire | 2.13 ct | ₹1,99,000 |
| Mira cushion halo solitaire | 1.88 ct | ₹1,41,500 |
| Amara triple band solitaire | 1.85 ct | ₹1,63,000 |
Prices move with the gold rate, and every piece is also made in 18k.
Two carats can be one stone or many
The carat figure on a ring page is the total weight of every diamond in the piece, so it helps to know how that weight is shared. In a plain solitaire the whole of it sits in one stone. With small diamonds along the band or around the stone, the centre weighs less than the figure shown and the sparkle spreads across more of the ring. In a pair or a cluster, no single diamond is 2 carats, but together they cover more of the finger. None of these is better; it is a choice of look, and the price follows the total weight and the design.

1.90 carat or a full 2 carat?
At Nivara the rate does not step up at the round number. A 1.90 carat diamond is ₹95,000 and a 2.00 carat diamond is ₹1,00,000, a difference of ₹5,000. By our size chart a 2 carat round is about 8.2 mm across, and the width gained from 1.90 to 2.00 is well under half a millimetre. So the choice is yours to make on how the ring looks and sits on your finger, not on where a price breaks.
How big 2 carats looks on the hand
A well cut 2 carat round is about 8.2 mm across, against about 6.5 mm for a 1 carat. It weighs twice as much but looks roughly a quarter wider, and it covers about half the width of a 16 mm finger. An oval or a pear of the same weight looks larger, because it spreads the weight along a longer outline. For how that size feels day to day, read is a 2 carat diamond enough.
Less or more than 2 carats
If 2 carats is more than you want, a 1 carat diamond is ₹50,000 at the same standard: see what a 1 carat lab grown diamond costs in India. If you want to go further, a 3 carat diamond is ₹1,50,000 for the stone, and our guide to 3 and 4 carat lab grown diamond ring prices carries the arithmetic on.
Compare like with like
A price can only be compared when the diamond behind it is the same. Ask any seller for the clarity, colour and cut in writing, who certifies the stone, and what they will pay for the piece years from now. Our guide to the best lab grown diamonds in India sets out the questions to ask. At Nivara the answer is one standard at every weight: VVS clarity, E colour and ideal cut, IGI certified, and on solitaires the report number laser inscribed on the stone.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a 2 carat lab grown diamond ring in India?
At Nivara the diamond alone is ₹1,00,000 for 2 carats, at a flat ₹50,000 per carat for VVS clarity and E colour. The finished ring adds gold, making and tax. The rings on this page that carry about 2 carats of diamond run from around ₹1,41,500 to around ₹1,99,000 in 14k gold, depending on the design. Prices move with the gold rate, and every piece is also made in 18k.
How big is a 2 carat diamond in mm?
A well cut 2 carat round diamond measures about 8.2 mm across, against about 6.5 mm for a 1 carat. On a ring finger about 16 mm wide it covers about half the width. Oval, pear and marquise shapes spread the same weight along a longer outline, so they look larger face up.
Does the price per carat go up at 2 carats?
Not at Nivara. The rate is ₹50,000 per carat at every weight, so 2 carats is exactly twice 1 carat: ₹1,00,000 against ₹50,000, and 3 carats is ₹1,50,000. The ring around the diamond is priced separately, by its gold and design.
Does the carat figure on a ring include the small diamonds?
Yes. The carat figure on a Nivara ring page is the total weight of every diamond in the piece. A ring with small diamonds on the band or around the stone has a centre diamond that weighs less than the figure shown. A plain solitaire holds all of its weight in one stone.
Can I exchange or sell back a 2 carat ring later?
Yes. Every Nivara piece has a lifetime exchange at 100% of the current gold and diamond value, and a lifetime buyback at 100% of gold value and 85% of diamond value. Within 15 days of purchase the full invoice counts towards an exchange; after that, making charges and taxes are deducted.
