Couple rings are a pair, one for each of you, usually exchanged at the engagement in India. They can be identical, or matched in gold colour and diamond shape. At Nivara each ring is sold on its own, so a pair costs two prices added together: from around ₹1.27 lakh to ₹2.29 lakh for the five pairs below.
What are couple rings?
A pair of rings says "we" in a way a single ring cannot, and yet each ring still has to suit the hand that wears it. Many couples go on wearing theirs every day after the ring ceremony, some in place of wedding bands. What the two rings share can be a design, a gold colour, a diamond shape or a way of setting the stone.
The decision is shared. You chose each other, and the two of you choose the pair: she chooses the ring she will look at on her own hand for years, he chooses his, and you agree on what the two rings have in common. Are couple rings sold as a set?
Not at Nivara, and it is worth knowing before you compare prices. Every ring in our couple rings collection is its own piece, with its own price and its own size. A pair is two rings you choose together, so its price is the two prices added together. None of the prices below is for a set.
That has an advantage. Each of you can choose the design, the gold colour and the diamond size that suits your own hand, and your rings can still match exactly where you want them to. Every ring comes in 14K or 18K gold, and nearly every ring in the collection comes in yellow, rose and white gold.
Three ways to make a pair
- Identical. The same design for both of you, made in two sizes. The clearest symbol, and it works best with a simple design that suits any hand.
- Matched. The same gold colour and the same diamond shape, in two different designs. Her ring can carry a halo or more stones while his stays plain.
- Complementary. Two different rings that share one idea, such as a pear and a round diamond for her and a single round for him.
If you are unsure, match the gold colour and let each of you choose the design you would wear anyway.

The same design for each hand
Both rings hold a round diamond between the squared ends of a flat gold band. The same idea, drawn once for her hand and once for his.

All prices are for 14K gold and move with the gold rate; 18K costs more. Two things set the price of a pair. The first is the diamonds: every Nivara diamond is VVS clarity, E colour and ideal cut, priced at ₹50,000 per carat, the same standard in his ring and in hers. The second is the gold. A man's band is wider and heavier, so more of its price is gold, and his ring can cost more than hers even when her diamond is the larger one, as in the toi et moi pair and the two bands above.

Sizing two rings
Every ring is made to order in the wearer's size, so you each need your own measurement. Our India ring size chart puts most women between Indian sizes 6 and 14 and most men between 13 and 21, so never size one ring from the other. Measure the finger each ring will sit on, in the evening when fingers are at their fullest.
If either of you is unsure of your size, add a note when you place the order and we post you a ring sizer once the order is confirmed. If a ring we have made does not fit, we resize it free within 30 days of purchase.
Which finger, and when to order
Couple rings usually go on the ring finger of the left hand, for both of you. Some families follow the right hand, and neither is more correct, so follow the custom that matters to your families.
Rings are often chosen with a ceremony date in mind. The pieces listed on our website usually take 18 to 20 days to deliver, depending on the design. You are ordering two rings, so ask for the ready date of both before you fix the date.
