Cushion Diamond Rings

Brilliance with the corners softened. Nivara's cushion lab-grown diamond rings take a square stone, round its edges into a pillow, and light it with large, open facets that throw a warmer, more romantic sparkle than a sharp modern cut. It is the shape that feels both antique and entirely current.

Each cushion diamond is IGI-certified and made to order in 14K or 18K BIS-hallmarked gold, in rose, yellow, or white, in about three weeks. Every ring is fully insured and protected for life by Nivara's care, returns, and exchange.

View the cut alone in our cushion solitaire rings, see it surrounded in our halo rings, or compare shapes in the diamond shapes guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a cushion cut different from a round or a princess?
A cushion is a squarish cut with rounded corners and larger facets, which is why it throws broad flashes of colour rather than the fine, rapid scintillation of a round. Those rounded corners are also structurally kinder than the sharp points of a princess. This edit runs 11 designs, including the Amora cushion solitaire on a plain band, the Foreva cushion eternity band and two Mira halo settings.
Are cushion cut diamonds harder to certify or verify?
No. Every Nivara diamond, whatever the shape, is graded by IGI and the report number is laser inscribed on the girdle of the stone, so you can match the diamond in your hand to its certificate under magnification. Each stone is VVS clarity, E colour and ideal cut, cleared through 27 quality checks, and arrives with a light performance report grading brightness, fire and contrast.
What does a cushion diamond ring cost at Nivara?
The diamond is charged at ₹50,000 per carat for VVS clarity and E colour, the same rate for every buyer. Metal and setting are additional and vary with the design. Rings in this edit currently run from about ₹43,000 to about ₹1,40,000, with the plain band solitaires at the lower end and the halo and eternity designs higher because they carry many more stones.
Which metal suits a cushion cut best?
All of these rings are made in 14K or 18K BIS hallmarked gold in yellow, rose or white. A cushion has large open facets that pick up the colour of the metal around it, so yellow and rose gold warm the stone visibly, while white gold keeps it looking icy and can make the E colour read even brighter. There is no single right answer, which is why you can choose the karat and the colour on every design.
How do I stop a cushion solitaire from spinning on my finger?
Spinning is almost always a sizing issue rather than a design fault, and it happens most with a heavier crown on a slim band. Get measured at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest, and tell us if your knuckle is significantly wider than the base of your finger, because that gap is the usual cause. Since every ring is made to order in about three weeks, we build to your measurement rather than resizing afterwards.
What happens if I want to upgrade to a larger cushion later?
Use the lifetime exchange. You receive 100% of the current gold value and 100% of the current diamond value against the new piece. Making charges and taxes are waived within 15 days of purchase and deducted after that. If you would rather sell back, the lifetime buyback returns 100% of the current gold value and 85% of the current diamond value, with making charges and taxes always deducted.
