Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose round diamonds for a necklace?
A round brilliant returns more light than any other cut, so in a line of stones the effect compounds into a continuous band of brightness rather than a series of separate flashes. Rounds also match to each other more consistently than fancy shapes, which matters enormously in a piece like the Sutra graduated tennis necklace where any mismatch would be visible along the whole line.
What is the difference between the Sutra tennis necklace settings?
This edit shows four approaches. The four prong setting is the classic, holding each stone with minimal metal so light enters from all sides. The buttercup setting cups each stone in a flared mount for a softer, more decorative line. The scalloped setting curves the metal between stones so they sit closer together. The graduated design steps the stones down in size from the centre outwards.
What do these necklaces cost?
From about ₹60,000 to about ₹9,29,000 across 39 designs. The diamond is ₹50,000 per carat for VVS clarity and E colour, the same rate for every buyer, and metal and setting are additional. The spread is wide because a full tennis necklace carries many times the diamond weight of a single station or bar design like the Noor curved bar necklace.
How do I choose a length?
For a tennis necklace, 16 inches sits close at the base of the neck and works under an open collar, while 18 inches falls just below the collarbone and is the most versatile. Length changes the diamond count and therefore the price, since a longer line needs more stones. Decide the length before ordering, because every piece is made to order in about three weeks.
Can a diamond necklace be shortened later?
A line necklace can sometimes have links removed, but doing so alters the graduation on a graduated design and is not always advisable. This is why we make to order rather than adjusting a finished piece. If you are unsure, get measured at any of our showrooms, in Jubilee Hills Hyderabad, on Commercial Street Bangalore or at Shivaji Nagar Indore, open 7 days from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
What is the buyback on a piece with this much diamond content?
The lifetime buyback returns 100% of the current gold value and 85% of the current diamond value, with making charges and taxes always deducted. The lifetime exchange is the better route if you intend to buy something else from us, since it returns 100% of the current gold value and 100% of the current diamond value, with making charges and taxes waived within 15 days of purchase and deducted after.
