Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a diamond ring suitable for everyday wear?
A good everyday diamond ring has a low-profile setting (the diamond does not extend far above the band), a secure prong or bezel setting, a band weight that is comfortable for 12+ hours of wear, and a design that does not catch on fabric or objects. Nivara's everyday wear rings are specifically designed with these factors in mind, lighter band weights, secure settings, and designs that sit close to the finger.
Are lab-grown diamond rings durable enough for daily wear?
Yes. Lab-grown diamonds have the same hardness as mined diamonds, Mohs 10, the highest on the scale, and the same scratch resistance. The gold setting (14K or 18K) is appropriate for daily wear. The only care recommendation is to remove your ring before heavy manual work, contact sports, or swimming in chlorinated water.
What carat weight works best for a daily-wear diamond ring?
For most daily-wear wearers, a diamond between 0.20ct and 0.50ct is ideal. At this weight, the ring adds a clear, visible sparkle without drawing attention in a way that feels out of place during a work day. Larger stones (0.70ct and above) are beautiful for daily wear but benefit from bezel settings for added security.
Can I stack everyday wear rings with other rings?
Yes. Stacking is one of the most popular ways to wear Nivara's everyday rings. Our slim pavé bands, minimal solitaire rings, and plain bands are all designed to sit alongside each other cleanly. We recommend mixing metals sparingly for an intentional look, or keeping all pieces in the same metal for a more classic stack.
