Indian bangle sizes run from 2.2 to 2.14. The number after the point counts sixteenths of an inch, so a 2.6 bangle measures 2 and 6/16 inches across the inside, which is 60.3 mm. Measure a bangle that already fits you, or measure your hand, and match it to the chart below.
Bangle size chart

| Bangle size | Inner diameter (inches) | Inner diameter (mm) | Inner circumference (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.2 | 2.125 in | 54.0 mm | 170 mm |
| 2.4 | 2.250 in | 57.2 mm | 180 mm |
| 2.6 | 2.375 in | 60.3 mm | 190 mm |
| 2.8 | 2.500 in | 63.5 mm | 199 mm |
| 2.10 | 2.625 in | 66.7 mm | 209 mm |
| 2.12 | 2.750 in | 69.9 mm | 219 mm |
| 2.14 | 2.875 in | 73.0 mm | 229 mm |
Circumference is the inside measurement all the way round. It is the column to use when you measure your hand with a thread.
What does a bangle size like 2.4 or 2.6 mean?
Indian bangle sizes follow the old anna system. The 2 stands for two inches, and the number after the point adds sixteenths of an inch. So 2.4 is 2 and 4/16 inches, 2.6 is 2 and 6/16, and 2.10 is 2 and 10/16, which is why 2.10 is larger than 2.8 even though it looks smaller written down.
How to measure your bangle size at home
Method one: measure a bangle that fits
- Choose a round bangle you wear comfortably.
- Lay it on a ruler and measure straight across the inside, at the widest point, in millimetres.
- Find the nearest diameter in the chart. That is your size.
Method two: measure your hand
- Bring your thumb in to touch your little finger, as if you were slipping on a bangle.
- Wrap a thread or a soft tape around the widest part of your hand, across the knuckles.
- Mark where it meets, measure the length in millimetres, and match it to the circumference column. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger.
Method three: for hinged bangles, measure your wrist
A hinged bangle opens and closes around the wrist, so it never passes over your hand. Measure around your wrist just above the wrist bone and share that number with us along with your usual bangle size.
Slip on or hinged: which suits you?
A slip on bangle is a closed circle with no clasp, so the line is clean and unbroken, but it has to be sized to pass over your knuckles and will move a little on the wrist. A hinged bangle opens on one side, so it can sit closer to the wrist, and an oval hinged bangle follows the shape of the wrist and turns less. Many of our diamond bangles are hinged ovals; our tennis bangles and traditional pairs are round.

Frequently asked questions
What is bangle size 2.4 in mm?
Bangle size 2.4 has an inner diameter of 2 and 4/16 inches, which is 2.25 inches or 57.2 mm. Its inner circumference is about 180 mm. Size 2.6 is 60.3 mm across and size 2.8 is 63.5 mm.
What is bangle size 2.6 in cm?
Bangle size 2.6 has an inner diameter of 6.03 cm, or 2 and 6/16 inches, and an inner circumference of about 19 cm. It sits between size 2.4 at 5.72 cm and size 2.8 at 6.35 cm.
How do I measure my bangle size at home?
Place a bangle that fits you on a ruler and measure the widest distance across the inside, in millimetres. Match it to the chart. With no bangle to hand, bring your thumb to your little finger, wrap a thread around the widest part of the hand, measure it, and match it to the circumference column.
What if I am between two bangle sizes?
For a slip on bangle, choose the larger size, since it has to pass over your knuckles. For a hinged bangle, which opens around the wrist, your wrist measurement matters more than your hand, so share both when you ask us to confirm the fit.
Is a hinged bangle easier to wear than a slip on bangle?
Usually, yes. A hinged bangle opens and closes around the wrist, so it never has to pass over the hand and can sit closer to the wrist. A slip on bangle has no clasp and a cleaner line, but it must be sized to your hand.
