An enhancer, also called a wrap or a ring guard, is a band shaped to frame an engagement ring rather than sit flat against it. It curves around the centre stone on both sides, so a single solitaire reads as a wider, fuller ring while remaining one ring on the finger.
It is worth considering in two situations. When a solitaire setting sits high and no straight band will nest against it, an enhancer solves the gap by design. And when a ring bought years ago should feel like more without being remade, an enhancer changes the look and leaves the original untouched. Enhancers are priced the same way as any band, on the weight of diamonds set into them plus the metal.
